29-year-old Shivajinagar resident sustains serious head injuries as motorcycle skids in Nigdi while on way home; friend escapes unhurt
A man, identified as Patnakar Mane (29), met with a serious accident at Nigdi around 10 pm yesterday. The man, a resident of Shivaji Nagar, was on his way home with his friend on his motorbike when the vehicle slipped and he injured himself.
Though his friend escaped unhurt, Mane had serious head injuries and was shifted to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital (YCM) at Chinchwad.
According to doctors on duty, Mane's condition was serious and so he was asked to go to a private hospital.
"Both men were drunk and did not have any idea of what was happening around them. Soon after they came here we immediately gave first aid. They left for a private hospital. They were on a bike that slipped and the two hurt themselves. We did not get the time to inform the police about the matter," said the CMO on duty.
