The Dadoji statue controversy continues. Historian Pandurang Balkawade may move the Bombay High Court requesting it to allow only those individuals and organisations to become third party who are in favour of restoration of the Dadoji Konddeo statue in the Lal Mahal premises.
Advocate Anil Visal, Balkawade's counsel said, "We will move the Bombay High Court requesting it to allow only those individuals and organisations to become third party who are in favour of restoration of Dadoji's statue at Lal Mahal."u00a0 A local civil court has allowed 30 applications as the 'third party', two in favour while 28 against Balkawade's private suit. Balkawade along with Samajik Samarasata Manch's Suresh Nashikkar and Lal Mahal Utsav Samiti member Chandrashekhar Shinde had filed a private suit in the court on December 27 seeking restoration of the Dadoji statue after the PMC had removed it.
On Thursday, Balkawade's counsels filed their say on an application filed by the PMC under section 7 of the Civil Procedure Code for rejecting his private suit seeking restoration of the statue.
