On March 25, Delhi Police sub inspector Vipin Bala Sharma, who was posted at Sunlight Colony police station, was allegedly strangulated by her husband Anil Sharma and son, a student of Class X, at their residence in Kilokri in south Delhi.

Police said that Vipin Bala and her husband often quarreled with each other. On the day of her murder, she had a heated argument with her husband following which both of them came to the police station. "Both of them started abusing each other inside the police station.

Though they wanted to file complaints against each other,u00a0 they were told to return to their home as cops on duty didn't take their arguments seriously because they knew that the couple used to have such kinds of fights and arguments quite regularly," said a police officer on condition of anonymity. However, he added, none of them could even imagine that this time their argument would lead to a tragedy.

Sources said that as Vipin Bala left the police station and reached home, her husband and son again started fighting with her. They then allegedly strangulated her. Both her husband and son were later arrested by the cops.
