While police claim they couldn't reach to a conclusion because the complainant didn't turn up for the hearing, organisers allege cops never asked them to be present

As some members of the organising panel accused the police of highhandedness and said the men in khaki roughed them up at the Enrique Iglesias concert on October 17, the Pune Police had set up a single member committee to investigate the matter.

Assiatant Commissioner of Police Sunil Prakash Gharge (Khadki division) was entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the probe, under the guidance of DCP Manoj Patil, and submitting the report in 48 hours.

Missed deadline
However MiD DAY has discovered that the cops have failed to meet the deadline. "We have completed the investigation from our side. But the committee head, ACP Prakash Gharge, informed me that the report couldn't be submitted as the complainants did not turn up for questioning and hence he was unable to come to any conclusion." u00a0Also, Gharge told MID DAY that the investigation will be done thoroughly, and that the report will be submitted once it is complete.u00a0

White lies?
Nonetheless, the complainant denied of receiving any notice from cops. Vijay Nair, director and co-founder of OML, said, "We were never asked to be present. In fact I got a call from the Amanora Town authorities on Saturday, and it's they who informed me about the happening. Hence I have come to the city and will meet the cops on Thursday."u00a0Nair added that he glad that police have initiated an enquiry into the matter. "It's a positive thing, and we believe that we'll get justice."

Coming soon
Whereas OML Co-founder Girish ‘Bobby' Talwar said he wasn't able to go to Pune, as he was busy with some work in Mumbai. He, however, assured that he'd go and meet the cops on Wednesday (October 24).u00a0Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police Gulabrao Pol said that the investigation is still in process and truth will prevail.u00a0
