The state police does not seem to be in any great hurry to probe the death of Mytradevi, chief minister B S Yeddyurappa's wife.

Re-inquiry has not begun even four days after the court issued a directive.

"We haven't started the inquiry as of today," said Kunigal Srikanth, additional SP, Shimoga, who is in-charge of the case. "The matter is under discussion with the SP."

However, a police official from Doddapete police station where the case was booked, said: "We will not visit the spot or conduct a re-inquiry in detail. We will check if we need to question witnesses. But we will consider the old reports including the UDR and Mahjr report."

But top cops deny this. "We will act on the court's directive," said Srikanth. "We will submit a report by March 31," as per court's directive."
