Chandigarh: Piercing cold wave conditions continued unabated in Haryana and Punjab today with the lowest of 2.8 degrees Celsius recorded at Amritsar.
The minimum temperature settled well below normal at several other places in the two states.
Chandigarh experienced a cold night as the mercury dipped to 5.5 degrees Celsius, an MeT Department report here said.
Apart from Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala also reeled under biting cold conditions recording below normal minimum at 3.4 and 5.5 degrees Celsius respectively.
While Narnaul turned out to be the coldest place in Haryana today, recording a low of 4.8 degrees Celsisus, Hisar also had a cold night at 5.8 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Karnal recorded a low of 6 degrees Celsius and Ambala's low settled at 7.7 degrees Celsius.
