Sahara chief was attacked outside SC premises as he got out of a car and was heading towards the court. Roy was arrested in connection with a case of non-refund of Rs 20,000 crore to investors

New Delhi: A man claiming to be a lawyer threw ink at the Sahara chief Subrata Roy Tuesday outside the Supreme Court premises here.

Manoj Sharma, 44, who claimed to be an advocate from Gwalior, threw ink at Roy as the latter got out of a car and was heading towards the court amid security personnel and a large number of mediapersons.

Sharma is the same person who in 2011 had tried to hit Suresh Kalmadi with a slipper.

"I threw ink at Subrata Roy as he is a thief and has robbed the poor," Sharma shouted, after which he was hurriedly taken away by police.

Roy was brought to Delhi Monday after he was arrested by the Lucknow police Feb 28.

The apex court Feb 26 had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Roy for failing to appear before it in person as directed by the court.
