3 labourers, including six-year-old, killed
On Monday night, a white Swift car, being driven by a property dealer, Rahul Gupta, ran over six slum dwellers at Sector 39 in Noida. Three of the victims, including a six-year-old boy, died instantly.
Cops said Gupta, a resident of Sector 27, Noida, was driving the car (UP 16-V7766), when he lost control of the vehicle and ran over a pavement where the victims, members of a family that was working at a nearby construction site, were sleeping.
The three 32-year-old Ram Milan, his wife Sumara and their son Ashok were crushed to death. The three others are critical and are admitted at the District Hospital. Gupta, who has been arrested, is admitted in the same hospital as well. "We are investigating whether Gupta was intoxicated," said Circle Officer (Noida) Rajiv Mishra.
