After disappointing first day at commerce college's annual festival, second day sees more student participation and better events
The first day of troika, the annual festival of Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC), turned out to be a damp squib. But the student organisers pulled up their socks on the second day and managed to put up a decent show.
Barely a hundred-odd students turned up on the first day, more than 350 students were seen on the second day. It was a better show since most of the students were participants from other colleges and not just volunteers from the host college. But the organisers maintained that the festival only saw half the participants as compared to the previous year.
The most funny event on day 2 was the 'Just in Time' event where two competitors were given a subject to speak on. When the buzzer rang, each person had to take off from where the other left resulting in many funny moments. Akanksha Sharma (20), participant from Symbiosis College of Arts and Commerce said that though the management went off well without any glitches, there was not much excitement.
This fact was echoed even by members of Trioka's organising committee. A core committee member, Ajinkya Sathe (20), said, "Troika was not marketed well. We have started networking with otheru00a0 colleges and expect many more teams on the last day."
