The CBI yesterday told the Supreme Court that it will not arrest dentist Nupur Talwar in the Aarushi murder case as long as her petition seeking the cancellation of a non-bailable warrant against her is pending before the court.

An apex court bench of Justice AK Patnaik and Justice JS Khehar sought a commitment from the CBI that it would not arrest Talwar till her plea was pending.

As Additional Solicitor General Harin Raval said that the probe agency would take note of what had been said by the court, the bench observed it had total faith in the CBI.

The court directed the matter to be placed before Chief Justice SH Kapadia so that it could be listed before an appropriate bench.
