On January 26, thousands of farmers who had gathered in Mumbai’s Azad Maidan from various districts of Maharashtra, unfurled India’s Tricolour on the occasion of the country’s 72nd Republic Day, amidst roaring chants of Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan. On Tuesday, the Indian tricolour was hoisted at Azad Maidan by Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Nanasaheb Patole and 73-year-old protestor Yamuna Tai Jadhavkar, followed by the national anthem.
