IN PHOTOS: Railways conduct mega blocks on all three lines, commuters stranded in Mumbai

A jumbo mega block was conducted by western railway on Sunday, while central railway had mega block too including harbour and transharbour line

A five-hour jumbo block was carried by Western line for Sunday, February 11. The jumbo block was conducted from at 10 AM to till 3 PM on fast line between Santacruz and Goregaon stations

Due to the jumbo block, all fast local trains were diverted to slow line between Santacruz and Goregaon stations. The block was carried out for "maintenance of tracks, signal system and overhead equipment", said the Western Railway

Central Railway too had announced a mega block. The block was between Matunga and Mulund stations on slow line from 11:05 AM to 3:35 PM

On Harbour line, a mega block was carried out between Vashi and Panvel stations from 11:05 AM to 4:05 PM. The Central Railway, however had said that special trains will run between CSMT and Vashi stations during the block period

While, on Transharbour line, block was carried between Thane and Panvel from 11:05 AM to 4:05 PM. But trains between Thane and Vashi/Nerul will continue normally during the block period, central railway had informed

A commuter said that for long period there was no train at Vidyavihar, Vikroli and Kanjurmarg stations. They feared the recent death incident of a motorman and absence of motormen may have affected the train services more

On Saturday, Mumbai's railway services were disrupted as more than 100 train services were cancelled due to absence of several motormen on Central Railway

The motormen had decided to attend the funeral of a colleague to died in a Friday train accident. The motormen had refused to work overtime, reports say
