Navratri, a nine-night festival, is celebrated with devotion and enthusiasm by Hindus across India. It signifies the triumph of good over evil and the worship of the divine feminine energy represented by Goddess Durga.

The highlight of this event was the procession of devotees carrying the idol of Goddess Durga towards the Arabian Sea for immersion, a practice that symbolises the return of the deity to her celestial abode after the festival.

The procession featured an intricately crafted idol of Goddess Durga adorned with vibrant clothing and jewellery, attracting the attention of both participants and onlookers. Devotees sang hymns and offered prayers throughout the journey.

In tandem with the immersion of Goddess Durga, the effigy of Ravana, a symbolic representation of evil, was set ablaze. This ritual, known as the Ravana Dahan, is a pivotal moment during Navratri when the defeat of Ravana by Lord Rama is celebrated.

The burning of Ravana effigies carries profound cultural and religious significance, emphasizing the victory of righteousness over malevolence, a theme embedded in the Ramayana, one of India's revered epics.
