Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais attended a prayer meeting hosted by the Jewish Prayer House 'Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue' in Mumbai, together with luminaries such as Consul General Mike Hankey (US) and German Consul General Achim Fabig.

The day is dedicated to remembering Holocaust victims, emphasising the need to recognise the horrors committed against the Jewish community during and after World War II.

The United Nations General Assembly has designated January 27 as International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Consul General Mike Hankey, Consul General Achim Fabig, Consul General Kobbi Shoshani, and diplomats from various countries joined the Jewish community in Mumbai.

Consul General Kobbi Shoshani emphasised the ongoing problem of antisemitism, both historically and today, and the importance of global solidarity in the face of such persecution.

Shoshani asked the international community to stand together, with the motto "Never again." "Never forget," emphasising the importance of communal responsibility in preventing atrocities and protecting Jewish communities around the world.
