Yamini Jadhav, the wife of Yashwant Jadhav—a prominent Shiv Sena leader and former chairman of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) Standing Committee—has been a key figure in the city's political landscape

She had faced defeat in the 2017 municipal elections, Yamini Jadhav made a successful comeback in 2019, contesting from the Byculla assembly seat

Her victory was significant, as the Byculla constituency had long eluded Shiv Sena since 2004

In the 2014 elections, Waris Pathan of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) had won the seat, making it a challenging target for the Shiv Sena. However, in 2019, Yamini Jadhav managed to defeat both former MLA Madhukar Chavan of the Congress and Waris Pathan of AIMIM, securing her place in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly

In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Arvind Sawant had defeated Yamini Jadhav from Mumbai South Lok Sabha (MP) Seat with the margin of 52,673 votes
