Police have registered a case against the management of a Dombivli school for allegedly disobeying the order of the election department, an official said on Friday, reported news agency PTI.

The election department had earlier directed all Dombivli schools, aided, non-aided and private, in the district to provide a list of their employees in connection with the Lok Sabha and assembly polls in Maharashtra, reported PTI.

Despite the directive being sent in February, Sister Nivedita School at Ajde village did not provide the details which resulted in the FIR, said the station house officer of Manpada police station.

It's binding on schools to act on the directive of the election department, he added.

12-year-old school boy kills self in Thane, probe underway

Last month, a 12-year-old boy allegedly killed himself by hanging at his house in Maharashtra's Thane district, the police said, adding that a probe in the matter was underway, reported PTI.

According to the PTI, the incident took place on Sunday in Kalyan town of Maharashtra, they said adding a suicide note was recovered from the spot and it was being examined.

The contents of the note were not disclosed.

Meanwhile, the boy was upset with his teachers and some classmates, the allegations were being probed by the police, sources said, reported PTI.

The boy, studying in a school in Kalyan, allegedly hanged himself from the ceiling of his house, an official from Kolsewadi police station said, according to the PTI.

The body was later sent to a government hospital for postmortem and a case of accidental death was registered, he said, the news agency reported on Monday.

A probe was on into the incident, the police added.

Class 12 student leaves home saying he wants to do job; remains untraceable

A Class 12 student from Sanpada in Navi Mumbai has gone untraceable ever since he ran away from home last week saying he did not want to study further and instead want to do a job, police said on Thursday, reported PTI.

The boy studies in a college located in Chembur area of Mumbai, they said, reported PTI.
