In the early hours of Monday, the body of an 18-year-old boy was found hanging from a tree in a tribal locality in Thane district.
"Passersby found the body hanging from a tree in the Bamanpada locality of Vashind in Shahapur taluka around 7 am," an official from Vashind police station said.
The deceased has been identified as Sanjay Pundalik Pawar.
"A police team rushed to the spot and sent the body to a government hospital for post-mortem," the police official said.

According to the police, eyewitnesses have claimed that there was blood on the teenager's legs.
While speaking to PTI, the father of the deceased said he suspected that some unidentified persons had killed his son.
Meanwhile, a 20-year-old man was killed by unidentified persons in Maharashtra's Thane city, police said.
"The victim, a vagabond, was found lying in a pool of blood with multiple wounds in Saiba Nagar locality of Kalwa area on Monday," an official at the police control room said.
The body was sent to a government hospital for postmortem. "The police suspect the incident took place in the early hours of Monday when the victim went out with some friends," the official said.
The motive behind the killing was not yet known.
"A case of murder has been registered against unidentified persons and a probe is on into it," the police said.
