Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who is in Mumbai, assured of a Mulund Terminus and Borivali-Konkan railway route at various Lok Sabha Elections 2024 campaign events. BJP's Mumbai North East constituency candidate Mihir Kotecha took up the issue of Mulund Terminus with Vaishnaw on Thursday saying it will reduce people's hardships and the railway minister responded affirmatively.
Kotecha, interacting with the public, said, "After getting elected as an MP, I will take up Mulund terminus on a railway land parcel in Mulund as my priority. This demand has been pending for a long time. Commuters going to Konkan have to go to Diva and wait for at least three hours at night to board a train. This has been causing them hardships."

Kotecha further demanded a halt of Konkan Kanya Express at Bhandup station and added, "Fifty per cent of people that board the Konkan Kanya Express are from Bhandup. It will give a huge relief to our Konkani people."
Kotecha lauded the railway minister for transforming and revolutionising India's railway network.
For the past two months, Kotecha has been raising various demands for the Mumbai North East Lok Sabha Constituency, including setting up Mulund Bird Park, Cultural Centre in Bhandup and Vikhroli and a ropeway (cable car) from Mulund to Sanjay Gandhi National Park.
Borivali to Konkan Railway
At an event in Borivali, Vaishnaw reiterated that a project to link Borivli with Konkan Railway will also begin soon. Work on the Naigaon-Juchandra chord line has been pending for several years despite finding mention in consequent budgets over the past few years, but work not begun on it. In this year's interim budget, an amount of only Rs 50 lakh has already been approved for it. With the political announcement now, work should begin early.
