On Wednesday, police in Pune reported that a woman strolling down the road was hurt after being hit by a fast vehicle. According to police, the incident occurred in the Hingewadi area on Tuesday afternoon, reported PTI.
According to the PTI story, a clip of the CCTV footage has surfaced on social media, revealing that the speeding automobile went off the road and struck the woman. Following that, the woman was flung into the air and landed some distance away.
An official from Pimpri Chinchwad police told PTI that prima facie the driver of the car seemingly lost control over the wheels and said that it was not a case of drunk driving and that a complaint had not been filed by the woman who is a resident of Mumbai.
"The accident took place on Tuesday afternoon when the car veered off the road and hit the woman as she was walking along the roadside. The woman received injuries. Her brother and uncle reached there shortly after the incident and took her home. They informed us that they will visit the police station to file a formal complaint," the official told the news agency.

Pune man allegedly kills neighbour over request for water
In another unrelated incident from Pune, a man allegedly killed his neighbour after the latter made a request for water. The incident happened in the Mundhwa area of the city.
Officials on Tuesday told ANI that the accused Rakesh Gaikwad, aged 35, was arrested by the police for hitting his neighbour with a cement block and an iron rod after the request for water turned into a violent argument.
The dead was identified as Shrikant Alhat, a Pune native. He died from heavy bleeding.
"The incident took place on Monday night when Alhat, who lived alone, asked for water from Gaikwad. This seemingly innocent request angered Gaikwad, leading to a heated argument between the two. The argument quickly turned violent, with Gaikwad attacking Alhat with deadly weapons. The relationship between Gaikwad and Alhat wasn't up to par due to Alhat's alcoholic habits. The request for water at midnight night was the tipping point that led to the tragic outcome. Alhat lost consciousness and succumbed to his injuries," an official told ANI.
