The Regional Meteorological Centre, Mumbai said that isolated places of Mumbai and Thane will receive moderate to intense spells of rains for the next 3 to 4 hours on Friday evening.
The other districts predicted to receive moderate to intense spells of rains are Thane, Raigad, Beed, Latur, Osmanabad. Moderate rains are expected over likely over Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Ahmednagar, Pune, Jalgaon, Dhule,Sangli and Parbhani.

Earlier, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had said Mumbai will see cloudy skies and moderate rainfall on Friday, while the neighbouring Thane district which is on yellow alert was predicted to receive heavy rainfall in isolated places.

IMD's Santacruz observatory recorded light rain at 15.8 mm, while the Colaba observatory recorded light rain at 1.6 mm in the last 9 hours. The relative humidity recorded on Thursday was high at 94 per cent.
