A 16-year-old minor boy in Mumbai's Malad Malwani, ended his life after his father prevented him from playing mobile games. The police shared details indicating that the boy's father had intervened due to concerns about his son's gaming addiction.
Police said the teenager had a habit of playing mobile games late into the night, prompting his father to intervene on Thursday night around 11:30 pm. The father confiscated the boy's phone and instructed him to go to sleep. In response, the distraught boy allegedly threatened self-harm if he wasn't allowed to continue playing, news wire ANI reported.
Tragically, the next morning, the father discovered his son hanging from the ceiling by a scarf. He rushed the boy to a nearby hospital, but upon arrival, the medical professionals declared him dead, the report said.
The Malwani Police have recorded the statement of the grieving father and filed an Accidental Death Report (ADR) in connection with the incident. The police's investigation into the matter is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
