Mumbai: Man detained for displaying birthday banners featuring gangsters in Dombivli
The Manpada police in Dombivli has arrested an individual for putting up banners containing birthday wishes alongside photos of gangsters.
Officials from the Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) removed the banners, and an investigation is being conducted. The accused has been identified as Sanjay Nikumbh.
According to the police, on Monday morning, banners appeared on Kalyan-Shil Road, extending birthday wishes to Sachin Bhai Khupse. The banners bore the organization name "Dayavan Sarkar Maharashtra Rajya" and featured pictures of gangsters Ashwin Naik and Pappu Kalani.
However, once the images of the banners with gangsters circulated on social media, the police, in collaboration with KDMC officials, took immediate action to bring them down.
