Employees practise an exercise at work

Final year students of SoBo's Wilson College recently began a campaign called Dil Dhadakne Do, where they visit corporate offices to conduct interactive sessions that inform the employees about the importance of physical exercises to keep an active heart. "There is an evident rise in cases of heart attacks in youngsters. It is also a cause close to our heart because a classmate recently lost her parents to heart attack at a very young age," said activation head Grace Dsilva. "We visit offices and teach exercises that employees can practise at work. We are not expecting a fee in return; all we need is the space to conduct this and spread awareness." Look who's the apple of Joz's eye

City-based music producer Komorebi has bagged all the bragging rights after performing for Apple's senior vice-president, worldwide marketing, Greg ‘Joz' Joswiak at a meet-up in Delhi on Tuesday. "I gave Joswiak a sneak-peek of how I produce my music using my controllers and Logic [a digital audio workstation pioneered by Apple]. He was excited to see my workflow. Knowing he was a part of the team behind the launch of the iPod and iPhone, I was a tad nervous, as anyone would be, but he never once made me feel intimidated," she shared. The artiste's newest album comes paired with a comic, with each song correlating to a chapter. "I wanted the team to go home with something to remember. As a parting gift, I shared a vinyl, the comic, and Komorebi stickers with Joswiak and his team. The main character in the comic is inspired by me and my personal experiences. Joswiak was intrigued by the concept. I hope they end up reading it," she concluded.

Art call with Nikkolas Smith

Nikkolas Smith engages with students from Delhi's schools

New York Times' bestselling author of The Artivist, illustrator Nikkolas Smith is on his debut tour of India. The illustrator will be visiting three schools in Mumbai over today and tomorrow.

"This is my first time in India, and I am enjoying it," Smith shared on a call during his visit in Delhi. "I am talking to children, and discussing with them about ways to use art as a medium for activism. The kids get it; they have a better world view. It is the adults who are struggling," he shared.

Green victories

Bhagwan Kesbhat receives the award

In the past week, Waatavaran, a city-based non-governmental organisation that aims at building a healthy and sustainable environment, bagged three vital awards for its greening and sustainability initiatives. The most recent one was the award for the Most Impactful Green Management Leader by the World Federation of CSR Professionals on World CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Day. Bhagwan Kesbhat, founder of the six-year-old NGO said, "It was a very happy moment for us. This was a first step towards getting recognition for the work we have done over so many years." However, he believes that the fight against climate change must go on, and for this, all corporations and governments must come together to achieve India's zero emission goals as soon as possible.
