The fire that broke out on Sunday evening
A massive fire broke out in multiple factories at Vasai in Maharashtra on Sunday evening, the officials said.
A major rescue and relief operation was launched by the authorities however, the efforts to control the blaze were allegedly hampered due to water and manpower shortage, sources said.
The fire broke out around 7:15 pm after which the Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) fire department reached the spot at around 8:15 pm, sources added.

They said that the fire initially began from a factory and later spread across multiple factories in the area.
A factory owner alleged that the fire brigade asked them to arrange for water.
The fire brigade teams rushed to the spot and began to extinguish the blaze.
