In an early morning operation, a team of Maharashtra ATS detained a Jharkhand maoist leader after a raid at a chawl in Dhanvi, Nalasopara (E).

Karu Hulas Yadav (45) was a regional committee member of the banned CPI (Maoist) in Jharkhand.

Yadav, originally a resident of village Dodga, Tehsil Katkamsandi, Hazaribagh district, Jharkhand has been active in CPI (Maoist) since 2004 and carried a reward of Rs 15 Lakh on his head. He had come to Maharashtra for Medical treatment.

Jharkhand Police has been informed about the operation and further enquiry is going on, said Maharashtra ATS in a press statement.
