Another BJP leader is now under BMC scanner as the civic body issued a notice of inspection to Khushi Pride Belmondo building in Santacruz West, where party leader Mohit Kamboj resides. Earlier, the civic body had sent a notice to Union minister Narayan Rane's bungalow over alleged irregularities.
Officials from the H West office confirmed that the notice has been sent by the designated officer of the ward to the chairman/secretary/owner or occupier of Khushi Pride Belmondo building under section 488 of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation Act, 1888. As per the section, BMC officials may enter any premises for the purpose of inspection, survey or execution of necessary work. The notice mentioned that the designated officer along with assistant or workmen may come on or after March 23 to inspect the building. But there is no clarity in a letter on which complaint the notice has been served.
Assistant commissioner of H West ward, Vinayak Vispute, didn't reply to calls and messages.

Khushi Pride Belmondo is a 14-storey building that houses seven families, including the Kambojs.
"The Maha Vikas Aaghadi is now doing low-level politics. They didn't find anything against me, so now they are coming to my home. It will affect other residents too. But we are not afraid and will fight," said Kamboj.
He tweeted, "Be it Kangana Ranaut or Narayan Rane, if they [BMC] can't find anything to hold against them, they demolish the house. No matter what they do, I will not bow in front of Maha Vikas Aghadi government."
Kamboj, who owns a jewellery business and is also a builder, was formerly the president of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Mumbai and the national president of Indian Bullion and Jewellery Association (IBJA) from 2012 to 2019.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut had, in a press conference last month, alleged that Kamboj was a frontman of opposition leader and former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis, and linked him to the much-delayed Patra Chawl redevelopment project. Kamboj denied all allegations in a separate press conference soon after Raut's. In October, Kamboj held another press conference against NCP leader Nawab Malik.
Kamboj was also booked in a case at Santacruz police station for violating the Arms Act, after he was seen wielding a sword in a viral video on social media.
