In a fatal accident in Vasai on Thursday afternoon, a garbage collection truck collided with a motorcyclist, leading to the latter's death on the spot. The Valiv police are in the process of registering an FIR against the driver of the garbage collection truck. "The incident took place in the afternoon near Agarwal Naka, near Sagar Plaza in Vasai East. The garbage collection truck was moving when the motorcyclist got caught under the rear tyre," said a police officer from Valiv police.
According to the police, the motorcyclist, Rajesh More, 37, was crushed to death by the garbage collection vehicle's rear tyre. The police said they were unclear on whether the garbage collection truck was moving forward or backwards and how More was caught under it. "The garbage collection truck's tyre went over More's stomach. His injuries were grievous and he was almost cut into two pieces. He was declared dead on arrival by the doctors at a nearby hospital," said a police officer.
