The teachers at Chinai College, Andheri are on hunger strike since February 11 in a protest to claim their right to the sixth pay commission.

The protest has gathered support from none other than Shiv Sena's Yuva Sena, with Aditya Thackeray dropping in at the campus to support the staff. Since 2008, the management has dismissed more than 100 staffers from its rosters.

The staff including teachers have alleged that the junior college professors have not been paid salaries for the last three months. The Yuva Sena is asking the state government to intervene.
