The Kurla Government Railway Police (GRP) yesterday arrested two brothers for attempting to abduct a minor girl who was travelling with her family to Varanasi on board the Darbhanga-Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Pawan Express.
Santosh and Prakash Lokhande, who work as hawkers and are residents of Nashik, boarded the reserved compartment of the train around 11.30 pm from Nashik.
As the train reached Kalyan station around 2 am, the duo picked up the girl and tried to flee.

"Nine-year-old Naina Khan (name changed) was sleeping on her berth, while her mother Shabnam (47), was on another berth," said Shivaji Dhumal, senior PI of Kurla GRP. "We are trying of find out if they have any criminal record or were involved in any kidnapping case in the past," he added.
The brothers have been booked under Section 363 (kidnapping) of the IPC.u00a0
