The Thane unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau has arrested a sub-divisional magistrate for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 50 lakhs.
An ACB source told Mumbai Mirror that the accused, Shivaji D Davbhat (46) asked for Rs 50 lakh to pass an order in favour of a complainant. The latter is said to have four property related cases in Davbhat's court, the report added.
The report further stated that two others were also held along with Davbhat - his driver Jayesh Dashrath Patil and Nayab Tehsildar Satish Keshav Manivade (25). According to sources, they too were party to the bribe crime.

ACB source also told Mumbai Mirror Rs 47 lakh of the bribe was paid in fake currency.
