A Mumbai court granted bail to Republic Media Network's vice president Ghanshyam Singh in the TRP scam case on Saturday. Vishal Bhandari, a former employee of Hansa Research Group and an accused in the case was also granted bail. Bhandari was arrested on October 8.
The Mumbai Police Crime Branch also recorded the statement of Priya Mukherjee, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Republic Media Network and called her for questioning again on Sunday.

Singh was granted bail by the additional sessions court on a personal bond of Rs 50,000, along with one surety. He has been asked to appear at crime branch, Kandivali, every Monday and Friday between 9 am to 11 am till the trail is concluded.

"The court has granted conditional bail to Ghanshyam Singh and Vishal Bhandari," a Crime Branch official told mid-day.
Singh was arrested on November 10 from his Thane residence and Crime Branch took his police remand from court. After which he was sent to judicial custody by the court. Singh was kept in Taloja Jail.

While taking his custody, the Crime Branch had told the court in a remand copy that Singh's name had come up in the investigation of Abhishek Kolavade, another accused arrested in this case. Kolavade had told the police that Singh, who is the distribution head, had given Rs 15 lakh to him to increase Republic TV's TRP.
Police said in the remand report that the money had been paid between January and July 2020. Some of the payment was also made through hawala operators, added the remand report.
