Away from the prying eyes of the media, Peter and Indrani Mukerjea - accused in the Sheena Bora murder case - had a conversation after maintaining a stoic silence with each other for over six months. The couple had a chat outside the special CBI court about their daughter Vidhie Mukerjea, over some gulab jamun.

On Wednesday, all the four accused in Sheena Bora case were presented before the special CBI court. The accused reached the court by 1 pm for the hearing, which is always listed at 2:45 pm. Peter, who usually avoided interacting or even replying to Indrani, grabbed a chance when the media wasn't around and spoke to her for almost 20 to 25 minutes outside the court.
Sources from the family present at the hearing said Peter and Indrani were sitting together with their respective lawyers. "They had a chat, which went on for about for 20 to 25 minutes. The couple spoke about their daughter Vidhie Mukerjea's future, her interest in studies and her monetary requirements." The source added, "Peter also offered gulab jamun to Indrani which his family had brought for him."

Later, during the hearing, the CBI also filed a reply opposing Peter's bail application. In its reply submitted before the court, the investigating agency said further investigations are on. It added that offences committed by the accused are serious in nature and their release on bail will be prejudicial to the investigation at this stage.
CBI also said that Peter was very much involved in the conspiracy and e-mails sent to Rahul about Sheena being happy abroad show the same. It also refuted all the reasons Peter gave in his bail application. The bail is likely to be argued on April 21.
See you again?
After the meeting, Indrani wanted to meet Peter once again and mentioned this to her lawyer Gunjan Mangla. Mangla went to Peter's lawyers, who approached him with the request. But, they did not meet. Sources from the family said they did not speak again because Peter did not wish to talk to Indrani in the presence of the media. The couple only spoke to their lawyers.
