This is one fight action superstar Akshay Kumar doesn't have to bare any muscles for. The actor's decided to fight heart disease and has pledged his heart to the cause.

At an event to mark the launch of the Asian Heart Helpline 126126 that was attended by the who's who of the city, he asserts, "I am not doing a brand endorsement. The only numbers we know by heart are 100 and 101.

I'm here to make sure that everyone knows that if we see a heart attack, we should call 126126."

Well the health conscious Akshay is certainly the right man for this job. Says Dr Panda, "He's particular about his health and cares deeply about the health of fellow-Mumbaikars. He's a true role model."

The helpline, which promises to take a patient who's suffered from a heart attack to the nearest hospital within 30 minutes of the call, has received a great response since it was launched on Feb 23. Says Dr Akil Khan, the brain behind the initiative, "We receive about 30-40 calls every day for appreciation as well as medical assistance. We've helped 12 families with our cardiac ambulance and to one with our air ambulance. We have shifted a patient from Asian Heart Institute to Nair hospirtal on his request free of cost. We have also extended spot loans to needy patients."

Well, we hope that Akshay's dreams of etching 126126 into the mind of every Mumbaikar soon becomes a reality.
