This was the first time all three accused were produced before the court after the CBI took over the investigation last month. Magistrate N B Shinde gave CBI permission to interrogate the trio, however, he stated that Mukerjea could be questioned only after the medical officer issues her a fitness certificate.
Mukerjea, who was present in court on Saturday appeared too weak and was seen lying down on the court bench most of the time. Her advocate, Gunjan Mangla, told the magistrate that Mukerjea was palpitating and was too weak to take the witness stand.
Addressing CBI's application to collect Mukerjea's voice sample, the court asked Mangla to take Mukerjea's consent before collecting the same. The court has given her time till Tuesday for the same.
