What happened to 19-year-old Mumbai girl Sanam Hasan, a second year fashion designing and communication student at Pune's Symbiosis institute, is still a mystery. It has been three years since her unnatural death post midnight, during her birthday celebrations with colleagues, in a rented room in a posh residential apartment in Pune. mid-day had reported this, ‘How did our daughter die?,' (Dec 6).

From a botched up postmortem conducted by a junior doctor, who didn't photograph vital organs, to a middle-aged heart thrust as the deceased's to establish heart attack, to the evidence of semen in the vagina leading to suspicion of rape or consensual sex - the case is getting murkier with no closure for the parents, who reside at J P Road, Versova.

My life was uprooted before it was started. I trusted several strangers thinking them to be my kin, which became the ultimate reason for my departure from the beautiful earth. Today, I and my family still stand in front of the doors of judiciary so that my voice is heard and I get justice with a hope that justice be more than seven letter word prevails.'

Nagina, her mother said, "We were surprised and shocked on receiving unwarranted messages posted on the Facebook page created in remembrance of Sanam. Some messages were so provocative that it raised doubts about the people behind them, as if they knew a lot about the mysterious death of Sanam."

One message read, ‘Now why are the parents crying? Had those modern parents kept their bxxx under control, she would have been alive. Parents deserve it.' Though the parents registered an FIR with Versova police station on November 18, 2013, under various Sections (500, 501), 506, 507, 509, of Indian Penal Code and (sections 66 (a), 67) of Information Technology Act, no arrest has been made till today.
