A dispirited set of parents, who had lost all hope after the Bombay High Court asked them to pay Mira Road's RBK School a second admission fee of Rs 5,000 on Monday, kept their fight on by protesting outside the school the next day.

On April 7, mid-day had reported that while the school has asked parents of students who are to be promoted to Std I to deposit Rs 5,000 admission fee again, the parents claim that they had already paid Rs 25,000 under this category three years ago when they had admitted their child into the school. They later moved the HC saying the school is lying while claiming that their pre-primary section is a different entity. But the court decided against them and on Monday asked them to deposit the amount in three working days.

With the beginning of academic year is just 15 days away, these parents of around 100 kids are also worried about their children, who are not enrolled in any school.

One of the protesting parents said, "The court has completely ignored our basic complaint that the school is minting money by saying that two different trusts are running pre-primary and primary sections. It is the same school and is governed by the same trust. Just because they now show two different trusts on paper, court can't ignore the fact that both sections are being run on the same premises by the same management."

Another parent said, "We have already paid the admission fee three years ago in nursery class. Now, why do we have to pay again? While the school says kindergarten is run by a different trust, we see all students with the same identity cards and the classes are also held in the same premises. They also delayed the results to changed the name of the trust on them. If even the court is not going to listen to us then who are we supposed to approach for justice?"

Despite a day-long protest, the school neither interacted with the parents nor did they respond to mid-day's calls. But when contacted, Deputy Director of Education, BB Chavan said, "If the court has decided, what more can be done?"
