Captain Manohar Nambiar of the Western Naval Command clarified that naval officer A K Chaurdhary's death was accidental and he did not commit suicide.u00a0
On Thursday, Chaudhary was allegedly said to have committed suicide at the State Bank of India branch in Thane.
According to the police, Chaudhary walked into the bank at 1.30 and allegedly shot himself in the head with his service revolver.

No customers or bank staff were injured in the incident.
Captain Manohar Nambiar, spokesperson of the Western Naval Command clarified that Chaudhary, a senior seamen, was on an escort duty for collecting cash from the State Bank of India, when the rifle Chaudhary was carrying accidentally fired, killing him instantly.
Manohar said it was not a case of suicide as believed by the police.
