Security at Mumbai airport has been beefed up since Tuesday morning after the airport control room received a bomb threat last night, caller said that Taj Hotel may also be attacked
Mumbai airport is on high alert since today morning. Last night, the airport operators received a call that the domestic and international terminal, and the Taj Hotel may be attacked.

The bomb threat assessment committee of Mumbai airport has termed the call as a 'specific threat'.

The airport control room on Monday night received a threat message from a person claiming to be one Vishesh Kumar. This call was an internet call. He also disclosed his mail e-mail identity and his phone number to the airport officials.

Kumar claimed that he overheard a group of people in Andheri discussing that five vehicles at each place i.e. domestic airport, international airport and the Taj hotel will be blown between 9 and 10 am today. He also told officials that the group allegedly discussed that the impact of these serial blasts might be bigger than 26/11. The security officials as well as the local police have been on their toes since morning.

A Mumbai International Airport Pvt Ltd (MIAL) spokesperson confirmed that the threat call has been received, and security has been beefed up following the same.
"The Mumbai police conducted a thorough security check and have confirmed the call to be a hoax. We continue to be highly vigilant at all times to ensure safety and security of our guests," a Taj spokesperson said.
