Renuka applied for an MA Education through distance learning at Mumbai University and sought admission in 2008. The University asked her to submit the original B Edu00a0 marksheet and certificate. She had completed the course from Delhi's Indira Gandhi National Open Universityu00a0 (IGNOU).
Now, the University claims they sent the documents for verification to IGNOU and haven't received them although it's been two years.
"I passed the MA in Education course in April 2010. The University had had asked for original documents during admission. They were meant to return them within six months. I followed up but they claimed the documents hadn't been received from IGNOU. I have been visiting the University every month," said Renuka.u00a0
Renuka's husband visited IGNOU to check on the documents and officials there claimed they hadn't received the said documents from Mumbai University. "I don't know who to approach now," said Renuka.
D Harichandan, Professor and Director of Distance Education, said, "She should have approached the University earlier instead of turning up after so many months. We have mailed IGNOU several times about the verification of her certificates. They haven't responded."
