There was panic and chaos aboard a Goa to Mumbai Indigo flight, when the pilot failed to give any confirmation as they were flown to Vadodara and later brought back in the evening. According to a report by DNA, the pilot failed to land in Mumbai despite almost reaching the runway on Sunday afternoon.
A spokesperson from Indigo claimed the decision was taken due to the presence of birds on the runway, which made it unfeasible to land the aircraft.
The Goa to Mumbai flight (6E) 438, was scheduled to land in Mumbai at 1:55pm but was delayed by 10 minutes. On reaching the runway, the pilot was unable to land and made a runaround after informing the passengers and crew. But, the second attempt to land was also unsuccessful and the decision was made unannounced to fly the plane to Vadodara, after which the passengers were flown back to Mumbai in the evening at 6:00pm.
