The spate of fire incidents in the city don't seem to end, with another major blaze being reported at a godown in an industrial estate in Marol, Andheri East, injuring two fire officials. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
At around 1.16 am, the fire control room received a call about a fire breaking out inside the godown of a ground plus-one structure in Mistry Industrial Estate, opposite Marol Bus depot. Eight fire engines, six water jets, a water tanker and an ambulance were rushed to the spot.
According to officials, the fire spread within a short span of 15 minutes. By around 2 am, the flames had engulfed the 10,000 sqft-manufacturing unit.

"The area where the fire broke out had electric wiring, moulding machines, boiler, plastic panels and documents. The fire spread rapidly gutting almost everything in the manufacturing unit, as well as the godown," said a fire brigade official. The firefighters managed to douse the flames within an hour.
Nobody was present in the building at the time of the incident. However, two firefighters suffered minor burns, and were rushed to Cooper Hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment. "The cause of the fire is still not known," said the official.
