Hiro Shroff, a Mumbai-based oral historian, journalist and author of the book Down Memory Lane has been conferred a lifetime achievement award by his community, the Sehwanis.
The Sehwanis hail from the Sehwan village in Pakistan's Sindh province.
Down Memory Lane is a collection of 92 pieces published in the 80s, in India and abroad, in newspapers and in periodicals, in various languages.
The book highlights J R D Tata, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa and The Dalai Lama. It also handles historic events like the Partition and reminiscing on the days of the Raj.
