The Bombay High court, on Friday issued contempt of court notice against senior Maharashtra Navnirman Sena leader Nitin Sardesai who organised Raj Thackeray's Gudi Padwa rally on April 8 at Shivaji Park.

The High Court also asked the police and BMC to take action against MNS and Sardesai for violating Noise Pollution Rule as the decibel levels during the rally reached around 114 and since Shivaji Park is a silent zone, the maximum limit for decibel levels should not exceed 50.
The court also questioned police for not registering FIR as the party had violated rules. The police replied stating that they have issued a notice to organisers.
