Shiv Sena has written to discotheques, pubs and five-star hotels in Juhu to stay away from distributing narcotics to youth participating in New Year celebrations.

Sena leader Jitendra Janavale said the party would also deploy activists to keep an eye on the 14 pubs and 10 five-star hotels in Juhu.

"Our intention is to save the youth from the ill-effects of narcotics," he said.

However, Minister of State for Home Ramesh Bagawe said there was no need for the Sena to begin moral policing, as the city's police force was good enough to stop such illegal activities.
