Dawood aide attacks NCP leader's office at Crawford Market

In a move to extort money before the elections, gangster Dawood Ibrahim's aide attacked NCP leader Sabra Sikwani's office at Crawford Market yesterday afternoon. In her complaint to the L T Marg police station, Sikwani alleged that the attack was carried out by Dawood's right-hand man, Sattar Telli.

Sikwani told MiD DAY, "Telli asked me to sign some blank papers with an intention to usurp my property at 12.30 pm yesterday. When I refused, he removed a handgun and fired at the window panes of my office that overlooks the police headquarters."

DCP Sanjay Mohite said the incident was an election stunt. "The damage has been minimum," said Mohite.
Telli, along with Dawood's sibling Iqbal, were booked under provisions of MCOCA for their alleged role in grabbing land at the Sara Sahara shopping mall at Crawford Market.

Police sources informed that members of the D-gang usually terrorise candidates from political parties before every election so that they pay protection money to the gang members.
