Assistant public prosecutor, K M Khandagale took strong objection to Sharmau2019s application and said that the prosecution case was based on strong circumstantial evidence.

In the bail application, defence counsel, Siddhesh Naik, had told court, u2018 There is no direct evidence against Sharma. The investigating agency has not shown that the pieces of flesh found from the spot were of the deceased.u201d Naik told the court that the accused had not taken the said flat in Virar on rent. u201c It was in possession of the deceased ( Koladkar). He ( Sharma) used to go there to meet him. He has been unnecessarily roped in the case with false allegations,u201d he added.

However, Khandagale said, u201c Electronic evidence have been brought on record. The investigating agency has collected tissues from the bathroom and sent it for chemical analysis.u201d u201c The accused had purchased a u009d . - litre bucket, which was seized from the flat. A finger of the deceased was recovered from the drain where the other flesh pieces were found. The deceasedu2019s sister had identified a ring on the finger. Prima facie, the death of the deceased has been established,u201d added Khandagale.

There is absolute no scope at this stage to show that the accused has been mischievously roped in the case.u201d u201c At this stage, strong prima facie material showing the complicity of the present applicant/ accused is established by the prosecution.
