A 27-year-school bus driver allegedly committed suicide in the school bus on Tuesday night in Mumbai's northern suburb of Malad.
The deceased has been identified as Suresh Pathak (27).
According to the police sources, Pathak's body was found hanging inside a school bus of Radhakrishna International School, on Tuesday night around 11 pm, at Sundarnagar near Dalmia College in Malad (west). A team from Malad police station rushed to the spot after receiving a message from the police control room and took him to Shatabdi hospital where the doctors declared him dead before arrival.
According to senior inspector Sudhir Mahadik of Malad police station, "The bus in which Pathak committed suicide belongs to 'Om Shanti Travels' who provide buses to the Radhakrishna International School. We didn't find any suicide note and so the reason of Pathak taking such a drastic step is still not clear."
"After the post-mortem Pathak's body was handed to his elder brother Rakesh, who is also a school bus driver and used to stay in Shankar wadi area near Ismail Yusuf College in Jogeshwari (east). We have registered an case of accidental death and further investigation is going on," Mahadik said.
