Winners of the MHADA scheme may lose out on their houses, as the lottery system comes under scrutiny, but those on waiting list see a ray of hope

The Bombay High Court stay order on the distribution of the 3,863 MHADA flats on Tuesday after a PIL alleged fault in the lottery system was a dampener for the allottees, who may not get the houses, but it has raised hopes for candidates on the waiting list.

'I want my house'

I have already paid 25 per cent of the amount. Why should I not get my flat? I want my house, as I did nothing wrong. MHADA should have checked their lottery software, which has allotted more than one house to around 60 people.

I can't believe that the house, for which I took a loan of Rs 15 lakh, may never be mine.

I will start paying the EMI from next month. If the system is faulty, why should I be punished for it? The government should implement the new lottery structure from next time.

I knew something was fishy with the lottery system, as many people have been allotted more than two houses. I hope to get a flat in the re-lottery.
