Thane: NCB intercepts one, seizes 412 gram mephedrone

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) intercepted a person in Thane on Tuesday and seized 412 gram mephedrone from him.

On Tuesday evening, NCB raided the house of one Wasi Ahmad Ansari alias Chhotu at Sadguru Residency, Daighar in Thane and recovered 357 gram mephedrone, said NCB officials. Based on a tip-off, NCB officials intercepted Ansari at Shilfata Chowk, Kalyan later that night and recovered another 55 gram of the contraband from him.

Ansari was earlier arrested by Byculla and Bhiwandi police in 2019 under sections 307 (Attempt to murder) and 326 (Voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Further investigation is underway.
