The Mumbai crime branch has busted a major online sex racket that was being run through a call centre, an official said. Sources said, one accused has been arrested in the matter and further investigations are underway.
According to official sources, The unit XI of the Mumbai crime branch had been investigating the matter involving video and phone calls of a sex racket and unearthed that a call center had been set up to operate the entire racket. Around 17 women including students has been rescued and the owner of the call centre has been arrested.
The police said, official of crime branch got a tip off that through an APP people were being offered sex talks through video calls and phone calls in exchange for money. The officials raided an office in Malad area and learnt that accused used 'digital diamonds' to pay the girls on calls who later offered them with nude video calls or sex talks.

"On August 29, the officials raided the office and also seized 19 mobile phones and a laptop from the spot. Further probe is underway." an official said.
